Going Home ...
1. Buy/Rent an Electric Breast Pump.
Pumps can help stimulate your milk supply so that you can make more
milk for baby. Also, should you become engorged (hard, overly-full
breasts) you can pump yourself down until your breasts are soft enough
for nursing.
2. Feed on Demand. Don't restrict length or frequency
of breastfeedings. Feeding on demand will maintain a steady, regular
supply of breast milk. The more you nurse, the more milk your body will
produce.
3. Helpers at Home. Enlist friends and family to help. Especially
in the beginning breastfeeding is a full-time job, especially as both
you and baby are still "learning" how to do it.
4. If Something is Wrong, Get Help. Nursing should
not be painful or terribly frustrating for you or baby! Don't
be afraid to ask for help.
